Doula Training Payment Plans: No-Fee Installments, Scholarships, and MyCAA

Doula training at LearnToBeADoula.com is $650, and you do not have to pay it all at once. I offer no-fee monthly installments, third-party financing (Klarna, Afterpay, PayPal Pay Later), scholarship seats from $399, and SpouseWorks (formerly MyCAA) funding for military spouses. Every plan is paid in full before your first day of class.

  • $650 tuition, or $610 early-bird when paid in full 30 or more days ahead.
  • No-fee monthly installments; the earlier you register, the more months you can split across.
  • Scholarship seats: Community ($475) for financial hardship, Equity ($399) for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ applicants. Limited per date, first come, first served.
  • Eligible military spouses may cover full tuition with SpouseWorks (formerly MyCAA).
  • Klarna, Afterpay, and PayPal Pay Later at checkout, each with its own terms.

How the no-fee payment plan works

Split the $650 into monthly installments with no interest and no fees. The more lead time before your class, the more months you can spread it across. Your plan is paid in full before day one, so you start with nothing owing. You will see your exact monthly amount at checkout once you pick your date.

Other financing options

At checkout you can also use Klarna, Afterpay, or PayPal Pay Later. Each sets its own terms and shows them to you before you commit.

Scholarships and reduced-cost seats

I hold a few reduced-cost seats so that price is not the reason a capable person does not train:

  • Community seat ($475): for those experiencing financial hardship who plan to practice.
  • Equity seat ($399): for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ applicants experiencing hardship.

Limited per training date, first come, first served. Apply before you register. This follows the Green Jar Method of sliding-scale pricing.

Military spouses: SpouseWorks (formerly MyCAA)

If you are an eligible military spouse, SpouseWorks (formerly MyCAA) can cover your tuition. I am approved, and I will walk you through the process.

What your $650 covers

  • DONA-approved birth doula curriculum, taught live online with me
  • The childbirth education and lactation requirements other trainings charge separately for
  • A lifetime listing on MeetYourDoula.com and a community of more than 10,000 graduates
  • Free weekly co-working and mentoring calls, for as long as you want them
  • Business training, so you know how to find clients and set your fees
  • Printed materials shipped to your door (US addresses)

You finish ready to work, certificate of completion in hand. Full DONA International certification comes after training, once you have attended births and met the remaining requirements.

Will it pay for itself?

I will not promise you an income. What I will say is that in every training I tell students to price their first birth at least as high as what they paid for class. Price it there, and a single birth covers your training. A 2019 analysis of 9,710 active doulas on DoulaMatch.net found DONA-certified doulas charge 24% higher fees and receive nearly 200% more referrals than non-certified doulas. From there, what you earn depends on how you price and build your practice.

How to register with a payment plan

  2. Pick your payment option at checkout: a no-fee plan, financing, or pay in full.
  3. Get your pre-training materials while you complete your plan.

Whichever you choose, it is paid in full before your first day of class.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the doula training cost?

$650, or $610 early-bird when paid in full 30 or more days before your start date. Pay in full or split it into no-fee monthly installments.

Do I have to pay upfront?

No. Split the cost into no-fee monthly installments; your amount depends on how early you register, and all payments finish before training starts.

Are there scholarships?

Yes. A Community seat ($475) for financial hardship, and an Equity seat ($399) for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ applicants facing hardship. Limited per date, first come, first served. Apply here.

Can I use financing?

Yes. Klarna, Afterpay, and PayPal Pay Later at checkout, each with terms set by the provider. You will see the exact terms before you commit.

Is doula training tax deductible?

It may qualify as a business or educational expense. Check with your tax professional.

How soon can I earn after training?

As soon as you finish, with your certificate of completion in hand. Many doulas set their first fee at or above what they paid, so an early birth can cover the investment.

What if I cannot complete my payment plan?

Plans finish before the start date. If you need a different date, contact me and we will work it out.
