A free 8-page guide to help you decide if doula work is the right path, written by a doula trainer who has attended over 1,500 births and trained more than 10,000 doulas.
You’ll get the guide in your inbox within a minute. I’ll also send occasional emails about doula training. Unsubscribe any time.
You’ll get clear, honest answers to the questions I get asked most by people considering doula work:
It’s eight pages. You can read it in about ten minutes. No upsell pressure.
I’m Robin Elise Weiss, PhD, MPH. I’ve been a birth doula and doula trainer for more than three decades. I’m certified through DONA International as a birth doula trainer, and I’m a public health professor at the graduate and undergraduate level. I’ve attended over 1,500 births and trained more than 10,000 doulas.
I wrote this guide because I get the same questions over and over from people thinking about this work, and I want you to have honest information before you spend any money on a training program (mine or anyone else’s).
You need zero previous knowledge. You don’t need to have a had a baby.About 44 percent of the people who come to my doula training have never given birth or watched a baby being born.
If you’ve been telling yourself you’re not qualified because you haven’t been through it personally, the guide will walk you through why that’s a myth and what actually matters.
“Robin is a great educator and presenter. I learned more than expected. After taking the doula course with Robin, I am confident and ready to support as many families as I can.”
“Robin is an excellent educator and her experience as a doula is evident. I thoroughly enjoyed this training and am actually really sad that it is over.”
“Robin is incredible at communicating. I was never bored, and that is bizarre for me. She was witty, fun, inspiring, encouraging, and real.”
